“Life is not about the destination. Its about the journey” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Born and raised in the island nation called Sri Lanka, ever did I dream of living a life of adventure. An accountant by profession never did I dream of discovering a passion for photography. Wildlife photography. Since my childhood days I used to love to travel and dreamt of the day I would gaze upon the African savannah to witness the mighty roaring lion, the charging tusker and the stalking leopard.

When I got an employment opportunity in Mombasa, Kenya little did I realize my childhood dream would come true. I went on my first safari back in May 2017 using just an iphone. During this trip I spotted an magnificent male lion and it was love at first sight for me! I fell in love with the African wild! That trip was the moment I decided to dip my toes into photography. Any boy! I didnt look back!

My favorite parks in Kenya include Masai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo East. I have also visited parks in Sri Lanka which include Yala, Wilpaththu, Minneriya and Udawalawe. I love photographing big cats whihc include the lion, cheetah and the leopard. Out of the three, the leopard is my favorite followed by the big male lions with magnificent manes.

I enjoy photographing portraits of big cats where I can capture their soul penetrating stares. I want to share with the world the beauty of mother nature through my photography. When its all said and done, what we will remember will be our memories. And the memory of being in the wild will be carved in my soul forever!
