Within a month arriving in the hot and humid port city of Mombasa, I was able to visit the famous South Coast of Kenya. Just around 30km south of Mombasa, I visited Diani beach to have a relaxing Sunday day out. We started off by crossing Mombasa Island through ferry to the mainland which was a first for me. I was thrilled as well as nervous at the same time. Hearing of stories where vehicles falling off the ferry while on the move didn’t help very much either.

When we in the main land, there was a sense of relief which was coupled with the calmness. In no time we reached the beautiful south coast. The crystal clear beach took me down memory lane back to Sri Lanka which famous for the beaches as well. As we enjoyed the beach which you could walk miles and miles into the sea, we were treated with various seafood dishes from the morning catch.

My first experience of mother nature slowly revealing the hidden beauty of this East African country of Kenya is truly memorable. This was one of many Sunday day outs with friends which I have enjoyed.
